04/05/2021 Assessment Community Weekly

Reminder: State-owned land deadline is April 12

If your municipality has taxable state land or taxable state conservation easements, please review your preliminary 2021 list(s) in the Online Assessment Community by April 12. To complete the lists, review all posted documents and follow the instructions. If you have questions, email orpts.statelandunit@tax.ny.gov.

Get ready for the first three 2021 STAR reports

Watch your email this week for the launch of STAR Reports 1, 2, and 3.

In the meantime, take these steps to get ready:

Make sure you have access to the Online Assessment Community (OAC)

To access the STAR reports, you or your staff will need access to the OAC. If you haven’t logged in for a while, make sure your password still works, etc.

If you need assistance, follow the instructions on our OAC log in page to:

  • request access for you or your staff,
  • address any log-in issues,
  • make changes or deactivate an account.

Reminder: Upon leaving a jurisdiction, you must notify real.property@tax.ny.gov of the change so your access can be removed. Include in your email the user's name and the name and SWIS code of the municipality that needs to be removed.

New BAR Training Video

Last week, we notified the county directors that we’ve partnered with their association to launch a new BAR training video.

Many thanks to Onondaga County Director Don Weber and ORPTS Central Region CRM Aaron Lesch-VonRandall for their work to produce the new video!

For the BAR training materials and county training schedule, see: BAR training.
