03/16/2020 Assessment Community Weekly

We hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe during this challenging time. Our regional and Albany offices remain open, and we’ll continue to keep you up-to-date on, at least, a weekly basis. Staff have received guidance about health protocols which may affect how we handle in-person support. Rest assured we are developing strategies to continue to provide reassessment support and RPS assistance locally. Please continue to contact your regional liaisons with questions and to arrange support.

Today’s IVP deadline

Today is the deadline to enter your IVP data into the IVP Tool if you’re on the standard assessment calendar (May 1 tentative roll date and school bills issued around September 1). Thank you for providing us with the data in a timely manner.

Final oil and gas values

2020 Final Unit of Production Values are now available on our Oil and Gas webpage. There were no changes to the tentative values.

Until Grievance Day, YOU can help seniors who missed the Enhanced STAR exemption deadline for certain reasons

Real Property Tax Law Section 425 (6)(e) specifies that assessors must accept applications for the Enhanced STAR exemption until Grievance Day from seniors who failed to file by taxable status date due to:

  • death of an immediate family member, or
  • serious illness of the applicant or a family member that can be documented by a physician

For more information on exemption deadline extensions for seniors, see Assisting seniors who missed the exemption application deadline.
