Ethics recertification reminder

With the October 1, 2025 reappointment date less than six months away, it’s not too early to plan for your required ethics recertification. Re-appointed and re-elected assessors and county directors must take approved ethics training no more than one year prior to or one year after reappointment or reelection to office. New assessors and new county directors must take an approved ethics course within a year of taking office.

For approved courses and more information, see our Ethics component webpage.

Reminder: New RPS Online video + survey announcements

Last week we launched the first RPS Online video. This video is a brief introduction to the system. Watch your email in the upcoming days for a longer informational video of the system’s functionality.

Survey reminder: If you are the assessor in multiple municipalities, please complete the RPS Online Implementation Survey once for each city or town.

Thank you to all of you who have already taken our implementation surveys!

Your response to the Implementation Surveys will provide necessary information for your future conversion to RPS Online.

Please complete the surveys by June 6.

Visit our webpages. As we approach the launch of RPS Online this fall, we’ll continue to update our webpages with the latest in RPS Online news and content.

If you have additional questions or input about RPS Online, we’re listening! Please email RPSOnline@tax.ny.gov. We’ll use your questions to update our FAQs webpage, and your feedback is valuable as we continue to design and develop the system.
