If you received Form RP-5300-WSC, the fastest and easiest way to respond is online.
You cannot submit e-filed income tax returns until the new filing season opens in 2026. We anticipate the season will open in late January.
Until then, if you still need to file your 2024 income tax return, you can file a paper return.
If you haven’t filed a 2022 income tax return, you may still be entitled to a refund. Generally, the right to claim and receive a refund for tax year 2022 expires April 20, 2026.
If you’re entitled to a refund, in most cases you must file your 2022 income tax return on or before April 20, 2026. If you don’t file by that date, you may lose any refund you could be entitled to for that tax year.
