Online Services will be down for improvements from 5 p.m. on December 4 until 10 a.m. on December 8.

During this timeframe, you will be unable to create, log in to, or complete any transactions in your Online Services account.

If you must file during this timeframe, you may file a paper form. If you must pay a bill, use our Quick Pay application, which does not require you to log in. If you received an income request letter (Form RP-5300-WSC), use our STAR Income Worksheet tool.

To learn about the upcoming improvements and stay up to date, see December 2025 changes to Online Services and subscribe to receive Online Services emails.

10/03/2022 Assessment Community Weekly

Reminder: Deadline to apply for Director of Real Property Tax Services is October 8.

At the end of 2022, Tim Maher will be retiring. We are now seeking to identify our next Director of Real Property Tax Services. For more details, see last week's announcement and the job posting

Tips for passwords and access to the Online Assessment Community (OAC)

  • Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome are the preferred browsers.
  • Always access the Online Assessment Community directly from the Tax Department website. (Do not use browser bookmarks or favorites.)
  • Select ONLINE ASSESSMENT COMMUNITY LOG IN located in the middle of the page (not the Log in button on the top-right of the page)
  • If you have trouble logging in:
    • clear your browsing history,
    • clear your temporary files,
    • clear your cookies,
    • clear your cache, and then
    • restart your browser.

Take those steps even if you have done so recently. Doing so typically resolves the issue. To learn how, see Browser requirements and troubleshooting tips.

  • Passwords expire every 90 days. (You will not be prompted with a reminder message. If your password doesn’t work, it has likely expired.)
  • Passwords cannot be reused.
  • Passwords must be at least 14 characters and include:
    • one uppercase letter,
    • one lowercase letter, and
    • one number or special character.

If you still require assistance after following those steps and reviewing the information on our troubleshooting webpage, you can reset your password using the Forgot Password link on the log-in page. You can also retrieve your username if you’ve forgotten that.
