Withholding tax filers: Our improved withholding tax and wage reporting applications are live.
Because of the recent improvements to withholding tax and wage reporting forms and applications, the filing process is different for your quarterly return—Form NYS-45, Quarterly Combined Withholding, Wage Reporting, Unemployment Insurance Return—due April 30, 2025. Withholding Tax Call Center hours extended from April 28 through April 30.
Our Withholding Tax Call Center will be open for additional hours from Monday, April 28 through Wednesday, April 30. Representatives will be available:
- Monday, April 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Customer service representatives are available to assist you Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
Self-help services are available 24/7. We are closed on legal holidays.
To discuss your account-specific information, you will need a copy of your most recently filed tax return at hand when you call.
Telephone assistance
Cannot pay in full by the due date?
Pay all tax bills in full by the due date to avoid additional penalty and interest, or possible collection action. However, if you cannot pay your balance in full within 60 days, you can request an installment payment agreement (IPA).
Fax information
There is no central fax number for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. To avoid delays, use Respond to Department Bill or Notice to upload documentation we request from you. If we provide a fax number in correspondence we send you or on a form or instructions, use only that number to fax us information. Do not send documentation to just any fax number.
