STAR maximum exemption savings

We recently announced the maximum 2025-2026 STAR exemptions savings are available online. The RPSV4 database update is now available for download as well.

To install the update, log in to the Online Assessment Community and select RPSV4 Updates in the menu. Under STAR data, download and run Star_Cap_2025.exe.

The update will not change the level number of your database. Replication users should run the update at the consolidated site and each remote site.

2025 STAR exemption amounts are also available online statewide, except for Nassau County. (We will make the exemption amounts for Nassau County available in May)

If you would like a copy of the STAR exemption certificate, email orpts.star@tax.ny.gov.

STAR Delinquency letters hitting mailboxes

We are in the process of issuing letters to Basic STAR recipients who have been reported to us as having property tax delinquencies greater than one year:

For details of the program, see STAR and property tax delinquency

RPTL § 421-p Assessor Manual now available

The Assessor Manual entry for RPTL § 421-p (newly constructed or converted rental multiple dwellings) is now available.

The remainder of the Assessor Manual entries from the 2024 legislative session will be available in the coming weeks. We will continue to update you as they are published.

Last opportunity to register for June Data Collection class

We are planning to hold the basic certification course, Fundamentals of Data Collection, in the Schodack Town Hall (Rensselaer County) from Monday, June 9 to Friday, June 13 (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily). The location is just off of I-90.

To hold the course, we need eight additional registrations. This is a great opportunity to learn the details of data collection in person while achieving your basic certification course credit.
