STAR Credit Direct Deposit

Visit the new Homeowner Benefit Portal in your Individual Online Services account!

From the Homeowner Benefit Portal, you can:

  •  register for STAR
  •  enroll in STAR Credit Direct Deposit
  •  switch to the STAR credit
  •  view, edit or close your registrations
  •  ensure your information is accurate and complete
  •  take action to resolve issues

To get started, see the instructions below.

When you enroll in STAR Credit Direct Deposit, you will:

  • receive your STAR credit quicker,
  • eliminate the hassle of cashing a check, and
  • have peace of mind (no lost or undeliverable checks).

If you enroll fewer than 15 days before we issue your STAR credit, we will mail a check to you at the mailing address we have on file.

To learn when we will issue STAR credits in your area, see our STAR Credit Delivery Schedule.

Reminder: This enrollment does not register you for the STAR credit. You must be registered for the STAR credit on your primary residence before you can receive the credit by direct deposit. If you are not currently registered, or would like to learn more about the STAR Credit program, see Register for STAR.

If you are currently receiving the STAR exemption, you will continue to receive a reduction on your school property tax bill as long as you remain eligible. For more information, see our frequently asked question on this topic.
