Annual statistical report of New York State tax collections statistical summaries and historical tables fiscal year 2014-2015

This publication contains a series of statistical tabulations detailing taxes administered by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. The information presented includes revenues and selected tax structure information for the State's major taxes. It also presents data for some locally imposed taxes.

This edition presents information for New York State Fiscal Year 2014-15 and some historical statistics. New York State's fiscal year is April 1 - March 31.

During SFY 2014-2015 the Department collected $68.1 billion from State-imposed taxes and fees, of which:

  • personal income tax accounted for the largest share ($43.7 billion),
  • State sales tax plus excise and user taxes ($14.5 billion),
  • business taxes ($7.6 billion),
  • property transfer taxes ($2.1 billion),
  • and other taxes and fees (almost $0.2 billion).

This chart depicts the share of total revenues from these major sources.
