Did you receive an income request letter for STAR?

If you received a letter requesting your income (RP-5300-WSC) we need your income to verify your eligibility for STAR.

You can report your income to the Tax Department:

  • online—use our STAR Income Worksheet (no account required) or log in to (or create) an Individual Online Services account to use the Homeowner Benefit Portal (no Property Key required)
  • in person—attend one of our scheduled STAR income worksheet events

What to bring to the event

On the day of the event, be sure to bring:

  • a copy of your RP-5300-WSC letter, if you received one; and
  • all documentation of 2024 income for all resident owners and spouses who reside at the property, including:
    • total wages, salaries, and tips
    • taxable interest income and dividends
    • unemployment compensation
    • taxable amount of total distributions from IRAs (individual retirement accounts and individual retirement annuities)
    • total pensions and annuities (excluding IRA distributions)
    • Social Security benefits (including Medicare premiums)
    • other income
