The Tax Department offers direct telephone assistance to those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or who have speech disabilities. Choose the technology that works best for you. Whether you use your desktop, laptop, mobile device, TTY or TTD equipment, or reach out to us by telephone, we're here to help!

If you use TTY or TTD equipment

If you can't find what you're looking for on our website and prefer to speak with a representative, contact us through the New York Relay Service. We'd be glad to assist you!

Dial 7-1-1 for the New York Relay Service.


If you use VCO or HCO services

Get access to voice carry-over (VCO) and hearing carry-over (HCO) operators at the New York State Relay Service. Give the operator the telephone number that pertains to your specific tax matter.

If you use Internet relay services

Internet relay allows you to communicate with the Tax Department through an Internet connection and desktop computer or laptop. When you make your call, simply enter the telephone number that pertains to your specific tax matter.

If you use mobile relay services

You can use mobile applications to contact the Tax Department through the New York Relay Service—for free. Simply enter the telephone number that pertains to your specific tax matter. You'll type what you want to say to our tax representative and the operator will relay the message back to us.

Available on Android-powered devices running 2.2 or higher and iOS 4.3 or higher for iPhones.
