The Tax Department offers direct telephone assistance to those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or who have speech disabilities. Choose the technology that works best for you. If you use VCO or HCO services

Get access to voice carry-over (VCO) and hearing carry-over (HCO) operators at the New York State Relay Service. Give the operator the telephone number listed on our telephone contact list that pertains to your specific tax matter.

If you use Internet relay services

Internet relay allows you to communicate with the Tax Department through an Internet connection and desktop computer or laptop. When you make your call, simply enter the number listed on our telephone contact list that pertains to your specific tax matter.

If you use mobile relay services

You can use mobile applications to contact the Tax Department through the New York Relay Service—for free. Simply enter the number listed on our telephone contact list that pertains to your specific tax matter. You'll type what you want to say to our tax representative and the operator will relay the message back to us.
