Note: You can create a Tax Professional Online Services account only if:
- you are an owner or officer of the firm,
- act as the Administrator for the account, and
- have one of the following:
- an Electronic Filer Identification Number (EFIN) issued by the IRS,
- a New York State attorney registration number issued by the New York State Unified Court System, or
- a New York State certified public accountant (CPA) license number issued by the New York State Education Department.
| You will need the following information to successfully create your account. | |
|---|---|
| Have at hand your six-digit EFIN, seven-digit attorney registration number, or six-digit CPA license number. | |
| Have at hand your taxpayer identification number.
You must provide the taxpayer ID number—employer identification number (EIN) or Social Security number (SSN)—associated with your EFIN, or the Social Security number associated with your attorney registration number or CPA license number. |
|
If you are creating an account with your attorney registration number or CPA license number, you must verify information from your New York State personal income tax return filed for one of the past five years. You will need to provide:
Select No in response to the question Have you filed a New York State income tax return (Form IT-201 or IT-203) for at least one of the past five years? when creating your account if you have not filed a Form IT-201 or Form IT-203 on your own behalf for one of the past five years. See Individual verification for instructions on where to find the amounts above on your return. |
|
| Have at hand your contact information (name, address, email, and phone number). | |
| Choose a username and password that you will remember. Be sure to save your username in a secure place; we cannot reset usernames. | |
