Tax relief for quarterly and part-quarterly (monthly) sales tax vendors affected by COVID-19

If you are principally engaged in business as a restaurant or other food service establishment in New York City that had to suspend indoor dining due to Executive Order 202.81, or as a restaurant or other food service establishment that had to suspend indoor dining due to the Governor’s Executive order 202.68 because you are located in an area that was a designated Orange Zone on December 18, 2020, you may apply to have penalty and interest waived for the period September 1, 2020 through November 30, 2020, if you were unable to file or pay by the December 21, 2020, due date. You must file your return and pay the total amount due no later than March 22, 2021, to qualify for this relief.

  1. Enter COVID-19 in the Subject line

  2. In the Question section, provide the following:

    • EIN (considered public information)
    • business name
    • physical address of location that qualifies for relief
