Payment and filing due dates

The filing and tax payment due date is three business days following the payroll date you're reporting. (Note that holidays may change the due date.) Deadlines for when you must initiate your transaction differ by payment methods, and they differ for higher education and health care providers. See TR-370-N, Program Overview - PrompTax Payment Program for Withholding Tax.

If you're making a mandatory Withholding Tax payment, you also must make your mandatory Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax. See Publication 420, Guide to the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax.

If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the return is due on the next business day.
