Tropical Storm Lee tax relief

Filing and payment deadline extension eligibility

Extended deadlines apply to affected taxpayers, tax preparers and relief workers in the following counties that President Barack Obama declared disaster areas:

  • Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, and Tioga.

Additional taxpayers may become eligible for the extension should other counties be declared disaster areas because of Tropical Storm Lee. The relief also applies to taxpayers eligible for federal tax relief in counties in other states that are declared disaster areas because of this storm.  See the IRS - Tax Relief for Victims of the Remnants of Tropical Storm Lee in New York.
